The Safety Protocol signed by Biesse and the trade union representatives is a model for the entire business system in the Marche region.
Today, a videoconference was held in the presence of Governor Luca Ceriscioli, where the protocol for safety in the workplace, signed by Biesse and a the relevant trade union representatives was presented, ahead of the gradual safe relaunch of manufacturing activities.
“Biesse has always been ready to face this emergency and has maintained a high level of awareness throughout, and today, we are taking a key step forward in terms of the safety of people. – explained Roberto Selci, CEO of Biesse - We have worked in total synergy, not only within the Group, but also with the social partners and with the relevant institutions, taking a pragmatically approach to the teamwork.”
“I fully support this protocol, and would like to congratulate all those who have contributed to its creation – declared Luca Ceriscioli, President of the Marche Region. Today, you represent a real high point in terms of the agreements reached between trade unions and companies, in your desire to provide maximum protection to all those who work within the company. This effort to ensure safety in the workplace can be taken as a model and a point of reference by the entire business system. It is a great contribution to the life of the company, and to the community as a whole. This is why I wanted to be here with you today, because this protocol goes beyond the boundaries of the company, and serves as an excellent example of how best to manage the very delicate phase 2 of the relaunch.”
Stefano Porcellini, General Manager of the Group, presented the details of the project: “We have introduced an extremely high level safety plan, which is both innovative and integrated. We will begin with the serological screening of employees before they return to the company; this is a step that we will repeat periodically in order to identify asymptomatic people and reduce the risk of infection. A central Safety Management Committee has been established on the basis of the new shared protocol, in order to guarantee excellent standards for our business units both at the Biesse Headquarters and around the world, adapting these standards to respond to the local situation.”
Finally, the trade union representatives, FIM-CISL, FIOM-CGIL and UILM agree that an excellent result has been achieved thanks to a close, open and constructive process of discussion and dialogue, the aim of which has been to provide maximum protection for those working within Biesse and within the wider community. The trade unions hope that Biesse's achievements and the active collaboration that has led to the establishment of the shared protocol can be replicated within the other companies in the area.
The security plan signed by the Group includes an extensive smartworking programme, new working timetables to avoid crowding, temperature checks of employees at the entrance to the premises and the use of gloves and masks in the production departments.
Obligatory routes throughout all spaces will help to ensure that social distancing can be maintained, and special signs will remind employees of the hygiene rules that must be followed. Columns with sanitizing gel dispensers have been introduced in the manufacturing departments and throughout the Biesse Campus.
The approved protocol also provides for a periodic sanitisation programme for production lines, showrooms, offices and shared areas, before activities recommence and then at regular intervals. There will also be ongoing training sessions on the procedures to be adopted and on responsible behaviour in order to ensure safer workplaces for all.
The aim is to gradually start working again in a safe way, and to contribute to the creation of a system for the well-being of people, the company and the areas in which we work.
